Sean Dinces is an Assistant Professor of History & Political Science at Long Beach City College. He took his MA in Urban Education Policy and PhD in American Studies from Brown University, and previously held the Allan Selig Chair of U.S. History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While a native of Southern California, he has spent many years in Chicago, including a stint as a researcher for the Chicago Teachers Union.

Miles Kampf-Lassin, a graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School in Deliberative Democracy and Globalization, is a Web Editor at In These Times. He is a Chicago based writer.
