Join us on June 12th for the next installment of our monthly storytelling series. The show starts at 7pm.

The theme: Things I learned from my father.

Lessons we learn in life can come in different shapes and forms. They can be pleasant, painful or traumatic. Regardless, we all learn important lessons from our fathers, observing the struggles as well as the joy they experience as cultural products of their time.

Who is coming to tell in June? We have a great lineup that includes:
Jim Blissitt III
Ulupi Bodiwala
Casey Coppess
Samina Hadi-Tabassum
Ying Maneein
Aidan McCormack
Kirsten Pasia
Nadine Warner.

For most of these tellers, this will be their first time appearance at Pour One Out. We are very excited to have them at the bookstore.

Randy Kim will be the guest host for this show.

Pour One Out is a growing storytelling community based in Wicker Park. This is a show about depth, reflexivity, and vulnerability. We strive to create an inclusive platform for all to tell stories. We are committed to developing and engaging new and emerging tellers.

Pour One Out is produced and hosted by Ada Cheng, professor-turned-storyteller, performing artist, and producer of four storytelling shows, including Pour One Out, Am I Man Enough?: A Storytelling/Podcasting Show, Talk Stories: An Asian American/Asian Diaspora Storytelling Show, and Speaking Truths Series.

Her motto: Make your life the best story you tell.
